Ken Thompson | CEO
Ken brings a 33 year history of hands-on experience in marketing and advertising to Texans and the US. His experience includes over 15 years with transportation, public utility and state agency clients.
Client experience includes H-E-B Foods, Security Service Federal Credit Union, Texas Department of Transportation, San Antonio Water System, GUNN Auto Dealers, banking, retail, tourism, food and more.
Ken has served on many non-profit boards to include United Way, American Heart Association, Palmer Drug Abuse, ChildSafe, HeartGift and provided consulting to many others. He's an original, and we love him.
John Boggess | President
John Boggess is Thompson Marketing’s president. Boggess’ 30-year project experience ranges from public sector transportation issues to nuclear power plant communications to the very complex water supply issues facing both Texas and nation. Since coming to Thompson Marketing seven years ago, his private sector marketing experience includes working with large San Antonio brands such as Gunn Automotive, FieldStone Home, Texas Med Clinics, Nix Hospital, Nature Sweet Tomatoes and Grande Communications.
Before joining Thompson Marketing, Boggess served on the executive leadership team for San Antonio’s water agency and provided strategic communications counsel to the SAWS board members, CEO, vice presidents and department directors. He also managed SAWS’ communications programs that included: media relations, federal, state, and local governmental relations; crisis response and management; community relations to include neighborhood and business leaders; consumer research; marketing / advertising; school education; web applications; and media training. He also was SAWS media spokesperson and chief writer for SAWS to include executive speeches, press releases, crisis communications and organizational speaking points on various issues. His department’s work ultimately earned national recognition from the American Water Works Association as being the best communications organization in the country.
Kelly Poore | Account Coordinator
Kelly Poore is the account coordinator for Thompson Marketing. Kelly brings to the client hands on experience with media placement, reports, timelines, budgets and vendors. Her attention to detail has been a great value to the agency and the clients.
Kelly has over 15 years experience in marketing and advertising. She was marketing manager for more than ten years at Columbia 300, one of the world’s largest bowling ball manufacturers. She was responsible for managing marketing efforts for product launches, marketing collateral and catalogs, strategic planning meetings, managed all media buying and coordination with the ad agency (Thompson Marketing). When Columbia 300 was acquired in 2007, Kelly came to work for Thompson Marketing.
Adam Stielstra | Senior Creative Director
As Senior Creative Director, Adam utilizes the information we've gathered to restructure and mold it in to various platforms of delivery. Playing a role of Creative Director and Producer Adam weaves your message in to a comprehensive campaign spanning both traditional and new media with flawless continuity.
New to Texas, he is also on a mission to figure out where to wet a fly line here and is in desperate need of help. Please help him.
Annette Smith | Accounting

Maria Gil | Director of Interactive Media
Born in Colombia, believe it or not, I'm not a coffee fan. My boost in moments of desperate need of inspiration is Earl Grey tea.
I Love books, and find the best way to relax is a great story to transport me to different worlds.
By trade I am a web designer. My initial project with Thompson Marketing was the co-development of the Missions of San Antonio website for the nomination to be a designated World Heritage Site. I found this to be a very intense but fun process. My goal is to keep growing, learning and most of all have fun doing what I love to do. The Thompson team allows me the ability to pursue this on numerous levels with an endless supply of clients, projects, and challenges bringing digital and interactive media to life for our varied roster of clients.
I am thrilled to be a part of Thompson Marketing and look forward to working with you on your next digital campaign.

Benji Smith| Graphic Designer
Benji was raised on a tropical island in the pacific ocean which gives him a unique view of the world. He is a collector of a range of items that fascinate and inspire him from exotic tea and coffee to ancient literature, classic films to vintage cameras. He is always searching for things that inspire and push him.
He is an artist and creator at the core, and is Thompson's resident graphic designer. He has over 8 years of graphic design experience, and continually pushes to better his skills and designs. He specializes in creating cutting edge, stylish, captivating, and timeless designs to attract and engage viewers. He is experienced in all aspects of modern design including: print, web, interactive, and multimedia.
